Save money and get better gas mileage

The average car owner spends around $1,000 per year in repairs due to neglecting these maintenance tasks. If you're not sure how often your vehicle needs service or what's wrong with it now then take some advice from us and get your car in for service. One of the simplest and best ways to improve your gas mileage is by replacing a dirty or clogged air filter. Dirty filters cause the car to draw more fuel than normal costing money and make for sluggish acceleration. Here's a few more tips to help you save money!

  • Check your vehicles gas caps – on average about 17% of the vehicles on the road have gas caps that are either damaged, loose or missing altogether, causing 147 million gallons of gas to vaporize every year.
  • Under inflated tires - when tires aren't inflated properly it's like driving with a parking brake on and that can cost you a mile or two per gallon.
  • Dirty air filter – Replacing a clogged air filter can improve gas mileage by as much as 10%.
  • Worn spark plugs - A vehicle can have either four, six or eight spark plugs, which fire as many as 3 million times every 1,000 miles, resulting erosion from the heat. Worn plugs are less efficient and waste gas
  • Don't drive aggressively - Aggressive driving can lower gas mileage by as much as 33% on the highway and 5% on city streets.
  • Drive the speed limit - Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. Each mile driven over 60 results in an additional 10 cents per gallon. Increase fuel efficiency by using cruise control.
